Here are some tips and guidelines to help you add high quality content.

Contents

Editing

To edit a page on the Small Business Library, click on the “edit” tab at the top of the page. If there is no edit tab available, the page may currently be locked, or you may need to become a registered user and login to make changes.

Once you have opened up the edit tab adding text is simple, just insert text wherever you feel it is appropriate. Clicking the "show preview" button at the bottom of the pane will allow you to preview the article and check for errors before publishing to the wiki. Clicking the "save page" button at the bottom of the editing pane will save any changes made.

Formatting

Once you have added text, you can format it to add headers, as well as bold and italic text. The bar on the top of the editing pane contains shortcuts to frequently used lines of code that are used to format entries. Hold your cursor above an icon to find out what action each button has.

Here are a few of the items you can use to format text in an article:

  • Use '''Put Bold Text Here''' to make the text bold.
  • Use ''Put Italic Text Here'' to make the text italic.
  • Use ==Put Header Here== to create a header.
  • Use ===Put Sub-header Here=== to create a sub-header
  • You can create a table of contents using the headers by inserting the text __TOC__ where you would like a table of contents to appear.
  • Use * at the beginning of a line to create a bullet.
